Dennis Ray Bruton, 79, of Munfordville was born on October 9th of 1946 and peacefully passed away at Norton’s Hospital in Louisville on his birthday October 9th of 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Virginia Guess Bruton.
Dennis was of Baptist faith and saved at the age of 13 years old during a revival at Leitchfield Crossing Baptist Church. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a past Girl Scout Dad. A past member of the Caverna Jaycee, member of Munfordville City Council, Historical Society and Civil War Days committee member. He worked for the railroad for 29 years and during his career the railroad went through several name changes from L & N to CSX. He was a 56 year member of Green River Lodge #88 F & AM. Dennis was an avid sports fan, but loved UK, the Cincinnati Reds and the Bengals. He enjoyed his yard and watching birds out of his front window from his many bird feeders.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 59 years, Brenda Joyce Puckett Bruton; his two children,
Jennifer Bruton Sims (Jesse Ray) of Cave City, KY, Janci Logsdon (Chad) of Munfordville, KY;one grandson, Draven Ray Sims also survives.
The family will receive friends from 4:00- 8:00 PM CT on Sunday, October 12, 2025 with a Masonic Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will be held again from 10:00 AM- 1:00 PM CT on Monday, October 13, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 13, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Talley officiating. Burial will follow at Munfordville Municipal Cemetery.
