Dennis Charles Bussey, 75, of Longview, passed away peacefully at his home on November 18, 2025. Born on August 10, 1950, in Marshall, Texas, to Rueben and Hazel Bussey, Dennis was a quiet, kind-hearted, soft-spoken boy who grew into a man known for his unwavering love and remarkable resilience.
Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he built a lifelong career at Rexam as a Chemical Plant Operator, where his work ethic, reliability, and craftsmanship earned the respect of all who worked alongside him.
A true genius when it came to hot rods, Dennis could restore or rebuild anything with an engine - though he'd rather it be a Chevrolet. He was also a master bass fisherman. His hands were always building, fixing, or improving something, and everything he touched reflected his insistence on quality and careful craftsmanship.
But above all his passions, Dennis treasured his family. He was an extraordinary husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather - gentle, funny, generous, and deeply loyal. He had a quiet way of making the people he loved feel special and seen.
Through every hardship, Dennis never complained. He carried everything he faced with quiet dignity. He refused to burden anyone with his struggles, choosing instead to make you laugh or offer you whatever he had to give. He greeted everyone with a warm smile and the kindest eyes - eyes filled with a deep, steady love that touched your soul.
He was a true pillar of strength - the toughest man his family ever knew - meeting every challenge with a calm, unwavering steadiness like no other.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved and devoted wife, Delaine Bussey; his children Tray Bussey (Michele), Angela Hamilton (Jeff), and Jeff Bussey (Cheyenne); and his sisters Wanda Green and Terri Noll.
He is also survived by his grandchildren: Taylor Bussey (Danielle), Jaxson Bussey (Valerie), Brennon Hamilton, Lanie Hamilton, Emma Claire Hamilton, Paige Hamilton, Tate Bussey (Dana), and Ada Bussey; his great-grandchildren Elena Rae Bussey and Islarose Bussey; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rueben and Hazel Bussey, his sister Gayle Bussey Hitt, and his brother Mark Bussey.
Dennis will be remembered forever for his strength, generosity, craftsmanship, gentle spirit, and profound love for his family. His legacy lives on in the people he raised, taught, and loved so deeply.
