Dennis Ross Cox, 83, passed away peacefully on August 5,2025, in

His childhood was filled with adventure and laughter with his siblings, Janice Baker, Charles Cox and Karen Warner. Numerous shenanigans were also had with friends growing up to the delight of his parents. Dennis was an accomplished athlete, playing guard for the Birdville Buffalos, with teammates who to this day are dear friends. In addition, Dennis was an avid baseball pitcher possessing a wicked left-handed knuckleball that could have landed him in the minor leagues. He also enjoyed being in plays and many other social events at school. Dennis was an amazing father. Raising his family in the Fort Worth area, he was always a proud Texan through and through. He advanced his career with the defense industry thru work ethic and a dedication to higher education. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Texas Christian University (TCU), followed by a Master of Business Administration from the University of Dallas. Beyond his professional life, Dennis was known for his witty personality and infectious laugh. Friendly and outgoing, he had a natural ability to connect with people and make them feel at ease. In his leisure time, Dennis found happiness in simple pleasures-playing golf and fishing were among his favorite pastimes. He was an avid fan of TCU football and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his team. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles and games of all kinds, especially dominoes and card games shared with friends and family. Sadly, his dream of being an accomplished angler was never fully recognized, but it was not from a lack of trying. Dennis was a man of deep faith, eventually becoming deacon at Camden Church of Christ in Camden, Arkansas. Dennis and Jean also worshipped at Richland Hils Church of Christ for many years. Developing many lifelong friendships along the way. His commitment to service and spiritual leadership left a lasting impression on his community.
Dennis is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Norma Jean Cox; two sons, Gary Cox and Terry Cox, 15 grandchildren; and numerous others who were touched by his kindness and spirit.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Traylor.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to share in his journey.
