Dennis Deese Obituary

Dennis Michael Deese, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, was called to his heavenly home on October 18, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on November 21, 1950, in Monroe, North Carolina, to the late Ansel Grady Deese and Doris Horne Deese, Dennis's early life in Monroe shaped the man he would become – one of strong faith, boundless love, and a passion for the beauty of God's creation.

Dennis's commitment to his family was a beacon of his existence. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife of 33 years, Wanda F. Deese, and together they crafted a life filled with joy and unwavering support for one another. As a father, he instilled in his children, Dusty Metreyeon (Karen), Nicole Deese Funderburk (Eric), and Carrie Deese Edwards (Dave), the values of kindness, adventure, and spirituality. Dennis's legacy continues through his adored eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, whose lives he touched with his gentle wisdom and infectious laughter.

In the company of his siblings, Gary Deese (Diana), Tim Deese (Gloria), and Gail Hyatt (John), Dennis found camaraderie and comfort. They shared in the sorrows of their parents' passing and rejoiced in each other's triumphs, always bound by an unshakeable familial bond.

Dennis's love for the outdoors was evident in every aspect of his life. He found peace and solace in gardening, working in his well-tended yard, and embracing the beauty of nature. His spirit thrived when he was outdoors, whether he was rolling a bowling ball down the lane with precision or reading the Bible on his screened in porch. His adventurous soul delighted in spontaneous day trips with Wanda, each journey a testament to their shared passion for discovery and making the most of every moment together.

At the heart of Dennis's life was his unwavering faith. A devout Christian, he lived his beliefs through every action and word, embodying the love and grace taught in the Scriptures. He was a pillar of his community, sharing his spirituality with those around him and offering support and guidance to all who sought it.

Dennis's approach to life was to turn every house into a home, a haven of warmth and welcome for his family. His ability to create such spaces was a gift, one that will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of stepping into the homes he lovingly crafted.

Described by those who knew him best as loving, adventurous, and faith-filled, Dennis's life was a testament to the power of living one's values every day. His presence will be profoundly missed, but the impact of his love and the strength of his faith will continue to resonate within the hearts of those who loved him.

Dennis Michael Deese has left a legacy of love, faith, and adventure that will forever be cherished. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we find comfort in the knowledge that he is at peace with his Creator, surrounded by the splendor of the eternal garden he so loved on earth.
