Dennis Glenn Deig, 64, of Mt. Vernon, IN passed away July 23, 2023. He was born August 23, 1958 in Evansville, IN.
Dennis was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ. He was a 1976 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. Dennis worked at Deig Brothers for 10 years and retired from Sabic after 33 years. Dennis was a member of the American Legion Post #5. His second home, Lake Barkley, is where he was truly in his element fishing. He also enjoyed hunting and gardening. Dennis loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. You could walk into a room and know Dennis Deig was there by the sound of his boisterous laugh. He had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy (Menikheim) and Harold Deig and son, Andrew Deig.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Kathy (Meyer) Deig; daughter, Kate Bailey; daughter-in-law, Amy Deig; stepchildren, Cory Sills (Mandy), Amber Jacobs (Granville), Curt Sills (Kelly); sister, Judy Deig; brother, Keith Deig (Letha); nephews, Josh Deig (Summer), Alex Deig (Sadie); grandchildren, Baylee, Sydney, Seth, Mac, Charlotte, Addison, Ella, and Bronxton.
Memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 5812 Ford Rd., Mt. Vernon, IN 47620 with Rev. Dr. Elisabeth Baer officiating. Burial to be held at a later date.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm service time on Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel United Church of Christ or Immanuel Cemetery.
