Dennis Lee DeNeui

Dennis Lee DeNeui, 29 of Las Vegas and a native of Hurley, SD, died suddenly of an acute infection on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 in Las Vegas. A Celebration of His Life will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 703 Washington Street in Hurley from 1-4pm. Arrangements by Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home.
Dennis Lee DeNeui was born on October 8, 1993 at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls to Carla (Johnson) and Brian DeNeui. He attended school in Hurley and graduated from the last class of Hurley High School in 2012. After attending USD in Vermillion for 2 years he explored different avenues of employment. He obtained his real estate license and work in real estate, was a talent acquisition specialist helping the recruitment of top talent, and with his love of numbers and mathematics was a professional poker player. Dennis has a passion for sports and real estate but especially loved spending time with family and friends.
His family is grateful that he was an organ donor and was able to give the gift of life to 4 others.
Grateful for having shared his life are his mother, Carla and John Simonsen of Hurley; his father Brian DeNeui of Sioux Falls; his sisters, Danielle (Josh) Simonsen of Martinsdale, IA and Carley Jo Simonsen of West DesMoines, IA; grandparents, Elvina Johnson of Watertown, SD and Joyce and Kenny Simonsen of Hurley; 4 nieces, 3 nephews, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Lyle and Marjorie DeNeui and Mervin Johnson, an uncle Lynn Johnson and a cousin Christopher Johnson.
