Dennis L. Dwinell, 75, of St. Johnsbury, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

Born on February 12, 1949 to Gilbert and Margaret (Guyer) Dwinell, Dennis was born and raised in St. Johnsbury, graduating from St. Johnsbury Trade School before beginning a 44-year career as a Machine Operator at Vermont Flexible Tubing. He married Cheryl A. Burrington on March 21, 1986, beginning a loving marriage of 38 years.

Dennis will be remembered as a quiet person, but also someone with a great sense of humor and a wealth of knowledge. He had a love of life, especially bringing his sons to Groveton every Saturday during racing season and going bowling with Cheryl. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, although later in life he became quite fond of his stationary bike. During his free time, he could be found with a good book and a cup of coffee, or out for a walk or drive around town. The most important thing for Dennis was family. He spent many evenings at various sporting events of his many grandchildren; he rarely missed a game. He will be missed greatly by all of them.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Dwinell; children Dennis (Kristianne) Dwinell, Robin Ware (Kevin Fontecha), Sarah (Randy) Goodwin, William (Lisa) Ware, and Kerri (Freddy) Nagle; brother Lance (Sandy) Tardiff; sister Pamela (Wayne) Comeau; grandchildren Sierra Dwinell, Cameron Dwinell, Tyler Liberty (Elaina Lafond), Teanna Liberty, Chase Drinkwater, Aaron Goodwin, Logan Goodwin, Ryan Ware, Wyatt Dixon, Brooke Nagle, Brandon Nagle, and Ellasyn Nagle; and great-grandchildren Eilliana Shaw and Oaklee Liberty. He was predeceased by his parents.

At Dennis’ request, there will be no calling hours. A celebration of life and burial at Woodmont Cemetery in East Burke will take place in the spring.
