Dennis Lloyd Ferguson, 73, of North Chicago, Illinois, passed away on June 19, 2025. Born on September 29, 1951, in Chicago to Lloyd Victor Ferguson and June (Timms) Ferguson. Dennis lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and unwavering loyalty to his passions.

Dennis attended Chicago Vocational School, where he first began to shape the values that would carry him through life-discipline, responsibility, and a strong sense of duty. On March 7, 1970, he married the love of his life, Susan Michaels, at Annunciata Church. Together, they built a home filled with love and their bond lasted 29 beautiful years until Susan's passing in 2000.

After high school, Dennis answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army. He served with distinction in Vietnam as a Specialist 4th Class. Upon returning home, Dennis built a career rooted in reliability and endurance. He first worked in the steel mills before transitioning to a long and celebrated career as a truck driver. He achieved one million miles of safe driving without a single accident or ticket, an extraordinary accomplishment. Later in life, he transitioned to a local route, a move made so he could be closer to the family he treasured above all else.

In his youth, Dennis shined on the pitcher's mound in East Side Little League, sparking a lifelong love of sports. He remained a loyal fan of the New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, and Chicago Blackhawks, cheering on his teams with a passion that only grew with age.

More than anything, Dennis was a devoted family man. He found his greatest joy in being present for his loved ones. Dennis leaves behind a legacy of integrity, service, and unconditional love. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched along the way.

Beloved husband of the late Susan Ferguson. Devoted father to Mark (Karen) Ferguson of Hawthorn Woods, IL, and Amy Sue Ferguson of Highland Park, IL. Proud and loving grandfather to Natalie and Benjamin Ferguson. Cherished godfather to Brianne Sprenger of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Victor Ferguson and June Ferguson, as well as his four sisters: Carol, Cathie, Gail, and Melody.
