In Loving Memory of Dennis Mark Fiandra
May 31, 1945 – March 26, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, husband, and friend, Dennis Fiandra, who passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025, surrounded by his devoted family.
Born on May 31, 1945, Dennis dedicated his life to education, spending 35 years as a devoted educator shaping young minds at the Richard R. Wright School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dennis touched the lives of so many students and colleagues alike, known for his sense of humor and the exceptionally fun style he brought to his classroom. Dennis still continued to keep in touch with many of his students decades after his retirement, a true testament to his level of dedication. He not only inspired countless students in the classroom but also made a lasting impact on the court, coaching girls’ basketball for several years with the same passion and care he brought to the world of teaching.
He was the devoted husband of Mary Jane, the love of his life, with whom he shared a beautiful life built on love, laughter, and family. Together, they raised four loving children: Stephanie Kraus (Scott), Michael Fiandra (Christie), Melissa Adams (Jeff), and Denise Piazza (Ben). His legacy also continues through his ten cherished grandchildren: Daniel Fiandra, Julianna Fiandra, Alana Fiandra, Connor Kraus, Lilly Kraus, Christopher Kraus, Luke Adams, Kyle Adams, Olivia Piazza, and Nicholas Piazza. Dennis is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and exceptionally devoted friends. He was preceded in death by his mother (Helen Fiandra), father (Joseph Fiandra), and two brothers (Joey and Barry Fiandra).
Dennis will be remembered for his unwavering faith, kindness, dedication, and incredible love for his family. His motto was that if he could make one person laugh each day, it was a great day. His wisdom, warmth, and sense of humor touched the lives of everyone who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Services will be held at Saint Katharine of Siena Church, 104 S Aberdeen Ave, Wayne, PA 19087 on Friday, 4/4. The Viewing will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, with the Funeral Mass immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Amyloidosis organization, amyloidosissupport.org.
