Robert Risk, III

Robert Risk III, adored husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2026. He was surrounded by his family, love, and admiration. Bob was 70.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware as the only child to Nancy Ann (Hathaway) Risk and Robert Risk Jr. on January 12, 1956, Bob soon moved to Wayne, Pennsylvania, the town that would enjoy his positive impact for decades. As a child, Bob enjoyed spending summers with his relatives on Martha’s Vineyard, fishing, quahogging, and exploring the beaches – activities he enjoyed his entire life. Following his graduation from Radnor High School in 1973, Bob continued his education at Gettysburg College where he was the proud offensive tackle on the Bullets’ football team, later achieving a bachelor of arts degree in political science. While at Gettysburg, Bob joined the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and began friendships with classmates that he, an only child, considered his brothers for the next 50 years of his life. Most importantly, it was at Gettysburg College where Bob met the love of his life, the person who would become his devoted life-companion and best friend, Jayne Anderson.

Bob and Jayne were married in 1978, one year after their graduation. A year later, Bob saw the birth of his first child, Trevor Michael Risk, followed by the birth of his second son, Jason Andrew Risk. But his family wasn’t complete until 1989, when he welcomed his only daughter Katherine Hills Risk. The birth of his three children gave Bob the role he coveted his entire young life, in which he would excel for the rest of his days – a dad. Bob gave tirelessly to his children, coaching any sport they wanted to try, but more importantly, being a confidant, a trusted advisor, and a friend.

In addition to being a successful husband and father, Bob achieved many successes in his professional career. He started and managed his own company, PSA, for over two decades, and afterwards took on leadership roles at several other global industry leaders.

Throughout his life, Bob was a fixture in the Wayne community, running charitable efforts, coaching countless youth sports’ teams, and volunteering at Radnor schools. Bob enjoyed breakfasts at Minella’s diner, playing paddle tennis, and spending time laughing with his many friends. He enjoyed golfing with friends, but didn’t like to golf. He loved clipping his front hedges, lazy Sundays by his pool, and loyally supporting (and complaining about) the Eagles and Phillies. Most of all, though, Bob loved when his home was filled with his family, where he would spend hours playing with his children and grandchildren, entertaining all with stories and jokes. Bob was happiest when he made others smile.

Although Wayne was Bob’s home, the place he desired to be and enjoyed most was Nantucket. Bob loved the quiet beach days at Smith Point, and the lively ice cream lines at the Juice Bar. He enjoyed Jeep rides out to Great Point to fish for blues, and telling his grandkids about various treasures found on the beach. An adopted local, Bob was a welcomed familiar face at his favorite spots around the island, regularly greeted with a “Hey Bob!” from behind the bar or hostess stand upon his arrival. He loved golf cart rides around Madaket, falling asleep at “Little Beach,” and whiffle ball in the sand. Most of all, Bob enjoyed relaxing in an adirondack chair in his backyard in Madaket, while his grandchildren ran around playing. On the day of his passing, the Madaket sunset glowed a little less bright.

Bob will be missed tremendously by his best friend and wife Jayne, his three children Trevor, Jason, and Katherine, his daughters-in-law Kelly, Jennifer, and Lauren, and his five grandchildren, James, Hutton, Harper, Bea, and Andrew – all of whom adored him.

Bob’s many friends and relatives are invited to a service on March 14, 2026 at 1:00pm at St. David’s Church, 763 South Valley Forge Road in Wayne, followed by a celebration of his life.
