Dennis Joseph Forest

Dennis Joseph Forest, age 67, of Smyrna, Delaware, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with cancer.
Born June 17, 1958, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, he was the beloved son of the late Francois "Frank" Forest and Rachel (Langevin) Forest. Formerly of Twin Mountain, New Hampshire, Dennis had recently settled in Delaware.
Dennis spent his early years in Woonsocket before moving to Vermont in 1978 after marrying Pamela Sault. Following their divorce in 1988, he remained in Vermont until 1993, when his father's passing led him to relocate to Twin Mountain, New Hampshire. He lived there for more than three decades before moving to Delaware in July 2025, where he remained until his passing.
Throughout his life, Dennis worked in a variety of roles, including as a field technician and machinist in Vermont and New Hampshire. Of all his positions, he was most proud of his service with North County Home Health Agency, where he cared for his disabled brother at home. In 1997, his devotion was honored when he was named Lay-Caregiver of the Year.
A quiet man who lived simply and independently, Dennis remained in Twin Mountain for nearly twenty years after his mother's passing in 2005 before moving to Delaware. Though reserved, his devotion to family and his acts of care spoke volumes about his character.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his brother Robert "Bobby" Forest.
He is survived by his brother Jean Forest and wife Mary Ann of Smyrna, Delaware; his son Joseph Forest and wife Rose of Midwest City, Oklahoma; his daughters Melissa Forest of Braintree, Vermont, and Brandy Forest of Randolph, Vermont; and two grandchildren, Shaun Paddock and Alexis Forest, both of Braintree, Vermont.
Honoring his wishes, Dennis requested no formal services and donated his body to the Anatomy Gift Registry to advance research and education. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Compassionate Care Hospice of Milford, Delaware, in his memory.
Though a quiet man, Dennis's devotion to family and his acts of care will be remembered with gratitude and love by all who knew him.
