Dennis Graney, a long-time Georgia resident, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025 at a care home in Savannah, after a long struggle with dementia.
Born in New York City, Dennis worked in the field of mechanical engineering as a plumbing specialist during his working years. But in retirement, he much preferred the low-country lifestyle. He was very active in the Tybee Island community where he devoted himself to gardening, beekeeping and various community events. He was also widely traveled and enjoyed visiting many international countries.
Dennis leaves behind a younger brother and sister, sister-in-law, nephew, his cat Missy, and many, many good friends and neighbors.
In accordance with his wishes, no formal service will be held. The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to The Nature Conservancy. An informal celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
