Dennis Graves

Dennis Owen Graves, 77, passed away at his home in Greenwood on December 21, 2025. Dennis was born on August 20, 1948 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Owen Coley Graves and Alice Christine Mitchell. He married Karen (Childers) Graves on June 19, 1982. She lovingly survives. Other survivors include his children, Chad Graves (Kristine), Deanna Watts, and Terri Radzvin; grandchildren, Olivia Graves and Lucie Graves; and siblings, Beverly, Teresa, Glenn, Connie, and Johnny. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Alice and Owen; and sister, Darlene. Dennis was a graduate of Howe High School. He went on to serve 6.5 years in the United States Air Force. During his time of service, he was stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base and he was apart of the strategic air command. Dennis dedicated his career to protecting people. He served 20 years as Deputy Sherriff Reserve Officer for the Johnson County Sherriff's Department. He owned his own security business and provided security for Rascal's Fun Zone for 30 years. Dennis retired from Yellow Freight as a truck driver. He enjoyed fishing and guns. Dennis loved to go metal detecting and had a love for NASCAR. Dennis was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He had a desire to keep everyone safe and make everyone laugh. Visitation will be Saturday, December 27, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N.
