Matthew Wade "Matt" Andreas

Matthew "Matt" Wade Andreas, 48 of Franklin, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.

He was born on January 23, 1978 in Franklin, Indiana to Melinda "Mindy" (Poynter) Shaw and Jack Andreas. He is survived by his companion, Candace Welsh; mother, Mindy; sisters, Katrina Browning and Jessica Andreas; daughter, Hailey Andreas; nieces, Jenna Browning, Daisy Browning, Iris Tyree; nephews, Khyree Barella, Trey Murillo and Christopher Bolds; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Also surviving is his cousin and best friend, Hope (Lamey) Albritton, loving dog Reba and step-son, Gavin Welch. He was preceded in passing by his father, Jack; step-father, Eddie Shaw; maternal grandparents, C.L. and Mae Rose Poynter and paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Doris Andreas.

Matt was a 1996 graduate of Franklin Community High School.

He was a self-employed delivery driver.

Matt was fondly known as "Tank" by his friends, a nickname he has had since high school. He loved gardening, golf and playing cornhole and poker. He enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Cubs, I.U. and listening to the Pat McAfee show.

Matt was a great guy and good person. He lifted the spirits of everyone in the room. He will be dearly missed by so many. Matt loved his family and friends and would do anything for anyone.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14th, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Hopewell Presbyterian Church, 548 W. 100, Franklin, Indiana 46131. Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home in Franklin is assisting the family with arrangements.
