Dennis Ray Harsh

Dennis Ray Harsh, age 57, passed away in his home in McCook, NE on September 16, 2025.

Dennis was born on July 27, 1968, in McCook, NE, to parents Del Harsh and Linda Booth. He grew up in McCook where he graduated from High School in Bartley with the class of 1986. He then attended Mid Plains Community College for diesel mechanics.

Dennis lived and breathed racing cars and farming. He enjoyed racing cars on dirt tracks in the area, watching the sport, and working on cars. Dennis loved his son, Ethan, very much.

In his professional life, Dennis was truck driver for UPS, and later on, was an owner of Zethan Trucking business.

Those who will miss Dennis dearly are his son, Ethan Harsh of Newport News, VA; parents; Linda (Rick) Hein of Lincoln, NE and Del Harsh of Bartley, NE; siblings, Diana (Greg) Laird of Mayetta, KS; Doug (Mercedes) Harsh of Bartley, NE; Donald Harsh of Bartley, NE; and Daniel Harsh of Pueblo, CO; step siblings, Jonathan (Alison) Hein of Syracuse, NE, Andy (Haylee) Hein of Platteville, CO, Crystal (James) Buscher of Lincoln, NE; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Dennis is preceded by his stepmother, Sherry Harsh.

Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, are suggested to McCook Humane Society, PO Box 13, McCook, NE 69001.

There will be a memorial service at 2:00pm on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook, NE, with Pastor Jeremy LaBrie as officiant.
