Dunn, NC: Mr. Dennis Lee Hawk, age 76, of Glenfield Drive passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM-Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the Central Baptist Church Chapel in Dunn. Revs. Tom Wagoner and Cameron Cloud will officiate. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens Cemetery in Dunn.
Mr. Hawk was born on July 24, 1948 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to the late Guy Delbert and Mary Kathryn Beach Hawk. He was an employee with Hardee’s Food Services for over 20 years in Benson. After his time with Hardee’s, he was the owner and operator of Ship on Site in Dunn. Mr. Hawk served our country in the United States Air Force for 6 years. He also served the Benson Community by serving as a Past President of the Chamber of Commerce, many years as a Director on the North Carolina State Annual Singing Convention Board. Mr. Hawk was a dedicated church member of Central Baptist Church where he served in many different capacities his passion being in the Music Department. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Shirley P. Hawk; children, Douglas Lee Hawk of Greensboro, Kelly Barham and husband, Eric of Greensboro, Shelby Warden of Raleigh, Andrea Batchelor of Benson, Ashley Bradley and husband, Brandon of Clayton; grandchildren, Mitchell and Wesley Barham, Bradley Denton and wife, Breanna, Anna Denton, Luke Bradley, Caroline Bradley and Cody Batchelor.
The family will receive family and friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Friday, March 14, 2025 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers; memorial may be made to the North Carolina State Annual Singing Convention Board, P.O. Box 344, Benson, NC 27504.
