Dennis W. Kleist

Dennis W. Kleist, age 71, of Fremont, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, November 20, 2023, at his home in Fremont. He was born on March 4, 1952 in New London, WI, the son of the late Leonard and Luvern (Schmidt) Kleist. Dennis graduated from Weyauwega -Fremont High School and then attended Fox Valley Technical College where he earned his associate degree. On July 14, 1973, Dennis married Deborah VanLyssel in Weyauwega. He owned and operated Kleist Excavating an Septic Service for 50 years, and also worked as an over the road truck driver for 15 years. Dennis' true passion was farming and he loved farming the land for many years.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 50 years, Debbie; two Sons, Bodyne (Jean) Kleist, Fremont and Conrad (Special friend, Em) Kleist, Waupaca; his daughter, Shelli (Mark) Robbert, Weyauwega; six grandchildren, Angel, Wyatt, Kyle, Jacob, Jeadyne, Yuri and Xavier; a sister, Beverly Weber, IL; a brother, Melvin (Linda) Kleist, AZ; six sister-in-laws, Janice (Don) Timmers, Judy (Jim) Cooney, Wendy (Walter) Sztuczko, Delphine VanLyssel, Evvy VanLyssel and Darlene Brown; two Brother-in-laws, Bob (Wendi) VanLyssel, Marty VanLyssel; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Lance, and five brothers-in-law, Larry Weber, James, Richard, David and Daniel VanLyssel.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 11:00 am at Countryview Bible Fellowship Church, 8401 County Road A, Berlin. Pastor Randy Prahl will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
