Dennis William Manning

Dennis William Manning, age 78, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025. Born February 25, 1947, in Hamilton, Ohio, he was the only child of James Kyle Manning and Nellie Thompson Wise.

Dennis built a long career as a truck driver, he loved the peace and solitude of the open road. Whether on the open road or off the beaten path, he was always chasing adventure. Known for his daredevil spirit, Dennis had a passion for riding his Harley, tearing through trails on dirt bikes, and skimming across the water barefoot or on skis. In his younger years, he enjoyed roller skating, horseback riding with his Uncle Linn and competed in many competitions-an early sign of his love for speed and thrill.

Boating was one of Dennis's greatest joys. He spent countless hours on the water-cruising looking for boats to race, skiing, or pulling anyone willing to get on a set of skis, kneeboard, or a tube. Summer vacations to Lake Cumberland in Kentucky were a cherished tradition, filled with family, laughter, and good times on the boat.

Despite his adventurous nature, Dennis also cherished quiet moments at home. He enjoyed watching science fiction shows and spending time in familiar surroundings.

Dennis was a loving devoted husband, father and grandfather. He had a heart as big as his personality, and will be remembered for his booming laugh, quick wit, and ability to bring joy wherever he went. Truly the life of the party, he was also a man of deep respect and integrity-a polite, considerate, and "stand-up man" in every sense.

Dennis leaves behind a legacy of courage, kindness, and a life lived unapologetically. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Carletta Manning; daughters, Nicole Manning and Mindy Snelling; and grandchildren, Aaron Pfaff, Desirae Manning, Tristen Courtad, and life-long friend Ronnie Compton. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held August 9, 2025, from 4-7 pm at the Manning residence in Oregon, OH.

Interment will be held August 16, 2025, at 2 pm in the Butler County Memorial Park, 4570 Trenton Oxford Rd., Hamilton, OH 45011. Gathering to be held afterwards.
