Born in Nashua on May 18, 1947, he was a son of the late Clarence and Anne (Rudak) Marchand. Educated in local schools, Dennis was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1965.
Dennis married Michelle A. Lavoie on May 12, 1984 at Christian Bible Church in Nashua. They made their home in Antrim for ten years and together founded "Get A Life Ministry". The couple shared 29 years together until Michelle's passing on July 1, 2013.
Members of his family include his three children, Sarah Marchand and James Marchand both of Hillsboro, NH and Hannah Hardwick of Francestown, NH; a granddaughter, Kylee Hardwick; three sisters, Jeanie Kaskewicz and her husband Paul of Nashua, Janie Narejo and her husband Guy of Florida and Cheryl Thompson of Nashua; a brother, Bruce Marchand and his wife Nancy of Merrimack; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
