Obituary of Dennis Joseph Mason
Dennis Joseph Mason was born on July 14, 1946, in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of eight children born to the union of Bennie and Irma Joyce (Kidd) Mason. He attended Airport High School in Carleton, Michigan graduating with the class of 1964. Shortly after high School Dennis enlisted in the United States Marine Corp where he later received an Honorable Discharge.
On September 2, 1967, at the United Methodist Church in Carleton, Dennis married the love of his life, the former: Connie Bale. Together the couple were blessed with a son and daughter: Christopher and Shelly. He was a proud member of UAW Local 372, the Monroe VFW Post 1138, Monroe Moose Lodge # 884, and the Monroe Fraternal Order of Eagles #2327. He loved playing Euchre at the VFW, knocking down the pins at Trenton Lanes and hitting the links at various golf courses with his buddies from work after a midnight shift. Dennis and Connie loved to travel to Myrtle Beach and their favorite destination, Branson, Missouri. He enjoyed watching sports with the University of Michigan Football team, the Detroit Lions, and the Detroit Tigers being his favorite teams, but he found the most joy watching his grandson Caleb play linebacker and running back for Monroe High School. Dennis's favorite pastime of all was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
