Dennis H McLaughlin

Dennis H. McLaughlin, 79, of Somers, beloved husband of Lorraine (Avery) McLaughlin, entered into eternal rest at his home on Sunday, December 28, 2025.

Dennis was born in Rockville on March 6, 1946, the son of the late Harold and Mary (Oskin) McLaughlin. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era, where he served as a chauffeur for both the Pentagon and the White House.

Following his honorable military service, Dennis went on to a long and dedicated career as a bus driver with Connecticut Transit. In his leisure time, he was an avid collector of model trains and a member of the Connecticut Society of Ferroequinologists and Model Railway Engineers in Manchester. Above all else, Dennis treasured time spent with his family and especially cherished moments with his grandchildren.

In addition to his loving wife, Lorraine, Dennis is survived by his sons, Shawn McLaughlin and his partner Sara Rosario, and Keith McLaughlin, all of Somers, and Joe McLaughlin and his partner Janelle Gorecki of Higganum. He also leaves behind his dear grandchildren, Molly, Emily, Kelly, and Keegan.
