Dennis "Denny" W. Moore, 69 of Tomah passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at his home. He was born on June 14, 1954, to Donald and Geraldine (Bliss) Moore in Hillsboro, WI. Denny attended high school in Elroy at Royall High School.
Denny married Charlotte Shaw in 1978. They later divorced but remained friends. Denny worked doing construction, at Walmart doing security, with Cardinal Glass, and was a mechanic his entire life, most recently working alongside his son, Matt, at Moore for Less Auto Sales in Tomah. He was known as "Mr. Fix-it" to family and friends. As a jack of all trades, Denny could just about fix anything and everything. If he couldn't fix it, he would find a way to "rig it up". He enjoyed fishing, being a part of racing cars, working on tractors and other farm equipment, doing field and farm work, camping and especially watching his grandkids at the rodeos. He had an easy-going personality and was a bit of a jokester. Denny was kind to the core, helping anyone that needed a helping hand. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be missed by those that knew and loved him.
He survived his children, Sara (Dan) Breitsprecher of Tomah, Andrew Moore of Tomah, and Matthew (Carina) Moore of Kendall, 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, siblings, Debbie (Bruce) Travis, Diane (Glen) Wilson, Cindy (Jerry) Gerke, and Eva Swenson, Wayne Moore, and Jason (Amanda) Moore, stepmother Christine Moore, and sister-in-law Nancy Moore. He is further survived by several stepsiblings, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brothers, Donald and Clifford, brother, Philip, a great grandson, Walker Smoot, and a nephew, Bobby Ludke.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, 11:00 AM at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau Street, Tomah. Pastor Kent Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited for a time of visitation on Thursday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Online condolences can be offered by visiting www.sonnenburgfamilyfh.com.
