Dr. Dennis Tison Rampton, PhD. passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Lund Home Hospice of the Valley, with his wife Donna by his side. Dennis was born June 9, 1938, in Ogden, Utah, son of George Henry Rampton and Geneva Byrne. Dennis married Darla Parrish on March 10, 1962, in the Salt Lake City temple, and she preceded him in death. Together Dennis and Darla had ten children.
During his life Dennis worked as an aerospace scientist. As a young man he traveled to South Africa to serve a mission for his church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He obtained an amateur radio license and with his radio he enjoyed communicating with people all over the world. His friends, family, and neighbors benefited from his generosity; Dennis frequently shared home-made jams, pies, and fruit he grew himself. In November of 2009 Dennis married Donna Miller. Together Dennis and Donna served as church missionaries in Italy and England.
Throughout life Dennis suffered the loss of many loved family members. In addition to his wife Darla, he was preceded in death by their children Andrew and Rebecca, as well as his parents, and siblings Wallace, David, Roger, and Ester. Dennis is survived by his wife, Donna; twin sister, Dianne Smith; sons, Malan, Michael, Mark; daughters, Jennifer, Kathryn, Cheryl, Anna and Marie; numerous grandchildren; step-daughters, Delaina, Melissa, Rebecca, Sarah; step-sons Joshua, and Jacob.
Services for Dennis will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meetinghouse, located at 5656 S Higley Rd., Gilbert, AZ 85298. Interment at Syracuse City Cemetery, Syracuse Utah.

My mom is Dennis´s twin sister and our families were very close growing up. The first house I remember Dennis living in had a "basement", more of a cellar. He had me convinced that he kept an alligator down there for disobedient children. I believed him for far longer than I should have. We laughed about it when I last saw him. From his life I get choose many, many stories to remember his good. I mourn his loss. Oh, and I loved telling him I was a doctor and engineers drove trains, he loved that one.
