Shirley W. Rampton, 91, of Naperville, IL, since 1967, passed away on Monday June 24 2024 at her home.
She was born on September 15 1932, in Chilkoot Barracks, AK, to Bertrand Abner Claspill and Lois Winona Wigle.
Shirley is the loving wife of the late James Rampton, whom she married December 28, 1951.
Shirley is survived by her children Susan (Donald) Logsdon of West Plains, MO, William "Bill" (Christy) Rampton of Naperville, John (Banessa) Rampton of Naperville and David (Cheryl) Rampton of Pittsburgh, PA. She also has grandchildren Toby (Jenni) Logsdon, Bob (Sarah) Logsdon and Sarah (Rhett) Renoud; Joshua (Karen) Rampton and Amy (Craig) Sewell; Erin (Joshua) Antrim, Ryan (Kristin) Rampton and Jennifer (Colby) Simonds; Ian Rampton and great-grandchildren Hannah, Caleb, Miriam, Samuel, Eliza, Abigail, Evelyn, Grace, Eldabelle, Claire, Anna, Nolan, Lucy, Elias, Evanell, Lincoln, and Madelyn.
Shirley was preceded in passing by her husband James, her parents, her twin sister Mary Atkinson, and her brother Billy.
Shirley was a founding member of the Naperville Church of Christ which started in her living room. She was a devoted teacher, teaching fifth grade Bible classes at the church and English as a second language for adults.
Visitation Friday, June 28, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Naperville Church of Christ, 2035 E. 75th St., Naperville, IL 60565. A Celebration of Shirley's life will follow Friday, 4:00 PM in the church. Interment will take place at Naperville Cemetery, Naperville, IL.
