10/10/1957 - 12/25/2025
Jeffry "Jeff" Dennis Brackey, age 68, passed away on December 25, 2025, at his home in
Gilbert, Arizona.
Jeff was born on October 10, 1957, in
Pomona, California. In 1991, he married the love of his life, Melanie, and together they built a beautiful life centered around family. They welcomed two daughters, Allison in 1993 and Emily in 1997, who were the greatest joys of Jeff's life.
Jeff was a fun-loving man who loved his family, friends, and his dog Scout more than he could ever express. He spent many years building a long and successful career with Islands Restaurants, where he worked in corporate until 2019. In 2020, he and Melanie moved to Arizona to begin a new chapter together.
There was no place Jeff would rather be than out on the water with a fishing pole in his hand. He loved fishing on any body of water with his boat, his buddies, excessive amounts of fishing gear, and the occasional cigar. Fishing wasn't just a hobby for Jeff, it was where he felt most at peace. He also deeply enjoyed cooking and grilling the most memorable and special foods that his family loved and enjoyed. His favorite things to make were his famous Christmas morning eggs benedict with his heavenly hollandaise sauce, his amazing Superbowl Sunday baby-back ribs and his fantastic and delicious winter fudge. Without fail, he made these every year and it became one of the most special and memorable traditions for him and his family.
Above all else, Jeff loved his family. He was incredibly proud of both of his daughters and everything they had accomplished in their lives, celebrating their milestones and cheering them on through every season. One of his proudest moments was walking his daughter Allison down the aisle at her wedding this past October, a memory that reflected the deep love, pride, and joy he felt as a father to both Allison and Emily.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Melanie, his daughter Allison and her husband Matt, his daughter Emily, his brother Warren and his wife Clara, and his sister Paula. He was preceded in death by his father, Duane, and his mother, Laura.
To celebrate Jeff, the family will hold a celebration of life at a later date, allowing them to truly honor and celebrate his life in the way he would have wanted. Additional information will be shared in the near future.
To know Jeff was to love him, and there are few people in this world who met him and didn't crack a smile or laugh at his jokes. He will be deeply missed but is resting with the Lord and continuing to catch those fish he loved so much throughout his life.
Jeff's life was defined by his love for his family. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to celebrate his memory by supporting his wife, Melanie, and his daughters, Allison and Emily, in any way that feels meaningful - gestures of care that he always would have cherished.
