Dennis Arlen Sack

1947 - 2024

Dennis Arlen Sack, age 76, of Elk River, MN passed away peacefully on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN surrounded by family.

Dennis was born in Mankato, MN on October 4, 1947, the son of Rueben and Betty (Schultz) Sack. He was raised in Mankato and then attended Dunwoody Institute for Automotive Collision Repair and Refinishing.

On September 2, 1972, Dennis Sack and Janice Kocur (his Redhead) were united in Holy Matrimony in St. Charles, MI. They made their home in Dayton, MN, and after 20 years relocated to Nowthen, MN where they bought a hobby farm. Dennis and Janice had been married nearly 52 years.

Dennis was a long-time proprietor of Northland Collision in Rogers, MN. He worked hard but played harder. He was an avid outdoorsman and could often be found fishing or hunting, usually with his son Chris, almost every day of the week, most days of the year. When Dennis and Janice moved to Nowthen, he added horses to his list of passions. He rode and trained horses for many years. One of his favorite accomplishments was a Missouri Fox Trotter stallion he rescued that eventually won a world championship model title in 2009. He also had a love for his many pets, including several dogs and cats over the years.

Dennis loved being with his grandchildren, especially bringing them to the "candy store" and buying them as much candy as they could enjoy before having to go back home to Mom and Dad.

He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, generous spirit and for always taking the road less traveled.

Survived by his loving wife Janice Sack; daughter Stephanie (Ryan) Roder of Buffalo, MN, son Christopher Sack of Nowthen, MN; grandchildren Cayler, Cianna, Keaton, Blaise and Josephine; sisters Jan (Bob) Snitgen of Wabasha, MN and Karen (Dan) Davis of Reno, NV; and many nieces and nephews along with several friends who were like family.

Preceded in death by grandson Trace Roder; his parents; siblings Judy, Mary, Brian, Steven and Randy Sack; niece Lisa Sack and nephew Michael Sack; Janice's parents Stephen and Arlene Kocur and brother in-law Gary Kocur.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Dennis Arlen Sack will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo, MN. Father Nathaniel Meyers will be the Celebrant. Inurnment at St. Francis Cemetery immediately following the Mass. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, June 1st one hour prior to Mass.
