Dennis H. Schroeder, 72, a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Belle Plaine on August 20, 2025. Born on October 2, 1952 to the late Albert Sr. and Irene (Montoure) Schroeder, Dennis was proudly raised on a dairy farm in Red River where many family memories were made.
After graduating from Shawano High School, Dennis met and married the love of his life, Marie L. Wierzba on February 12, 1972. They moved to Belle Plaine, where they raised their 3 sons, Paul, Matt, and Jason. Dennis and Marie shared 25 years of marriage together before her passing in 1997. He later remarried Kay Kahl and she preceded him in death in 2022.
Dennis had a profound love for the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing, which shaped much of his life. His fondest moments were spent at his hunting land up north and enjoying time at his cottage on Shawano Lake, where he created countless memories with family and friends. When he wasn't in nature, Dennis enjoyed singing Karaoke and shooting pool. Dennis was a handy guy and wasn't afraid to tackle any project. He leaves behind a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Known for his warm spirit, his memorable laugh, generosity, and deep faith. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Dennis is survived by his sons: Paul Schroeder, Matt Schroeder, and Jason Schroeder; his granddaughter, Claire Schroeder; his siblings: Darlene (Darwin) Drake and Gene (Naomi) Schroeder; Dennis is further survived by countless other family, friends, and loved ones.
He will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of his family and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am at St. James Lutheran Church (324 S Andrews St, Shawano, WI 54166).
