Dennis P. Scully

Dennis P. Scully, age 81, a lifelong Erie resident passed away Monday January 27, 2025. He was born in Erie, September 15, 1943 a son of the late William and Margaret (Wolfram) Scully.
Dennis was a graduate of Cathedral Prep class of 1961. He had a 60 year career in the construction business with Monarch Development, Odyssey Builders and Whipple Allen Construction. He was an avid reader, enjoyed going to the Nuova Aurora and Siebenbuerger Clubs, watching sports and woodworking. He had an "Irish sensibility" about himself, was a member of the St. John Ushers and Booster Club where he made many lifetime friends, but his children and grandchildren were his greatest joy.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife in 2003, Mary Judith "Judy" (Swisher) Scully, and his siblings, Jean Torrence, Edward Scully, Rita Pol, Ann Marie Chojnacki and William Scully.
Survivors include his children, Dan Scully (Heather) of Erie, Michele Harlan (Jim) of Willoughby, OH and Vikki Scully of Erie, 4 grandchildren, Zachary Scully, Elijah Johnson, Sarah Harlan and Kate Harlan, 2 brothers, Tom Scully (Marleen) and Jerry Scully, a sister in-law, Judy Scully and his loving friend, Shari Sullivan. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at St. Patrick Church, 130 East 4th St. Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl. Memphis, TN. 38105. Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 845 East 845 East 38th St., Pine Ave. Branch are handling arrangements.
