Dennis A. Sheahan

COHOES Dennis A. Sheahan, 71, of Vliet Blvd passed away on February 9, 2024, at home.
Born on June 27, 1952, in Cohoes, Dennis is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Janet Sheahan. He was a loving father to Denise (Bryan) Burrell of Raleigh, NC, Michelle Sheahan of Greenville, SC, Scott Sheahan (Atittaya Jantalert) of Kensington, MD, Heather (Matt) Pertierra of Cohoes, NY, Sarah (Eric) Wunning of Raleigh NC and a cherished grandfather to Emma, Jack, Sam, Kaitlyn, Brynn, and Leah. Dennis was also survived by his brothers James (Patricia) Sheahan and Robert (Joan) Sheahan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael C. and Caroline A. Sheahan and sister Patricia.
Dennis was a dedicated family man and a father figure to many. He was known for being the dad everyone wished they had, always putting others before himself. Dennis had a selfless and fun-loving personality, which made him a beloved coach and mentor to many in the community. He enjoyed golfing, coaching his children, horse racing, walking his golden retriever, tending to flowers in his yard, and swimming in the pool.
Dennis attended CBA High School and later built a successful career with GE/Momentive. He was a hardworking individual who took pride in his work and made a positive impact on those around him.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, February 15th at 10:30 a.m. in St. Michael's Church, Cohoes. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Waterford.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Dennis's family at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes on Wednesday, February 14th from 4-7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society or Cohoes Girls Softball League.
Dennis will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.
