Dennis Earl Sheffield, the beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, touched the lives of many during his remarkable journey from Brigham City, Utah, to Ogden, where he peacefully departed this world on September 18, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on September 10, 1940, in the heart of Brigham City, Dennis was a man whose spirit embodied the values of family, community, and unwavering perseverance.

Throughout his life, Dennis pursued both education and career with fervor. A proud graduate of Box Elder High School, Class of 1959, and Utah State University, Class of 1965, he set the stage for a successful career that included his role as a partner at Wiggins & Co, as well as Finance Director for the Brigham City Corporation. His professional journey reflected not only his wealth of knowledge and skill in finance but also a deep commitment to his community. He navigated its intricacies with grace, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and hard work that inspired many.

Throughout his life, Dennis had a great love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. After his mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he married the love of his life, Christie Browne, in the Logan Temple on July 5, 1963. He served in many church positions in his life, including ward clerk, counselor in the bishopric, and temple worker. He especially loved temple work, both as a temple worker and going to the temple to do ordinances.

Above all, Dennis was a devoted family man. He cherished his wife, Christie Browne Sheffield, and together they created a loving home filled with laughter and warmth. His legacy continues through their wonderful children: Brian, Jeffery (Jamie), and Laura Sheffield. The joy of his life expanded immeasurably as he embraced the role of grandfather to Leisha (Darian), Jonathan, Joseph, Breanna, Zac, Jordan, and Jeremy (Brinlee), and later blossomed into great-grandfatherhood with the arrival of Eli and Amelia Power. Each moment spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren was a treasured experience, filled with stories, hugs, and unconditional love, drawing them all closer in bonds that will undoubtedly endure.

Dennis's interests illustrated his warm personality—an avid follower of BYU sports and a passionate football fan, he reveled in the thrill of the games, often sharing his excitement with family and friends. His love for the sport became an avenue through which he connected with others, enriching his relationships and creating lasting memories.

On the familial side, his heart remained strong with the presence of his sisters, Donna Moore, and Elaine (David) Mills, who stood beside him through life's many chapters. They shared moments of joy, laughter, and undying support, creating a tapestry of experiences that would be cherished forever.

As we gather to honor Dennis’ life, we find ourselves reflecting not just on his accomplishments, but also on the profound impact he had on those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Earl Malmrose Sheffield and Vivian Walker, whose love and guidance shaped the man he became, and by his son, Paul Sheffield, whose memory remained a guiding light in his family's heart.

Family, friends, and community members are invited to pay their respects during a viewing at Gillies Funeral Chapel, located at 634 E 200 S in Brigham City, on September 26, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again at the Brigham City 29th Ward, located at 531 N 100 W in Brigham City, on September 27, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, where memories will be shared, and tributes will take root. A funeral service will follow on the same day and location at 1:30 PM, celebrating a life rich with love, laughter, and unwavering strength.

In our hearts, Dennis Earl Sheffield will forever remain a precious presence, a beacon of familial love and community spirit, woven into the very fabric of our memories.
