Dennis Dale Strecker, Sr., 91, passed away May 6, 2025, at Azria Health Woodhaven, Great Bend, Kansas. He was born on November 17, 1933, in Russell County, Kansas, to Lothar and Natalie (Schneider) Strecker. On November 27, 1955, he married Mary Davis in Russell, Kansas. She passed on October 18, 2007.
A resident of Great Bend, Dennis worked as a truck driver for H&K Trucking, then in mail service for 25 years for USD 428. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Dennis was a member of Saint Johns Lutheran Church in Russell, and St. Marks Lutheran Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Elks Lodge, all of Great Bend.
Survivors include son, Dennis D. Strecker, Jr. of Great Bend; two grandchildren, Christopher Strecker, and Katie Yeager and husband Coleman; two great grandchildren, Jaxon and Josie Yeager; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife; parents; son, John N. Strecker; infant daughter, Roxanne Strecker; sister, Norma Jurgensen; and daughters-in-law, Joyce Strecker and Lisa Strecker.
Funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Great Bend, with Reverend Adam Wutka presiding. Interment will follow at Saint Johns Lutheran Cemetery in Russell. Visitation will take place from noon to 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2025, with family receiving guests from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., all at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials have been designated to the Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
