Dennis "Snarp" Thiel, age 77 of New London passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 2, 2024. Dennis was born on April 1, 1947 in New London to the late Harvey and Thaleta (Radichel) Thiel. He attended New London Schools and went on to serve his country in the US Army Infantry in Vietnam. Dennis worked for many years at Wire Products in Hortonville. He enjoyed fishing and was a Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers fan. Dennis rarely missed watching a game. Dennis was a tinkerer and could fix just about anything. One of his favorite hobbies was building model airplanes. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles – leaving one unfinished.
Dennis is survived by his children, Jody (Barb) Thiel, Todd (special friend, Tracy) Thiel and Heather (John) Hass; his grandchildren, Lance (Harper), Eric (Melissa), McKenzie (fiancé, Hunter), Mason (special friend, Lexy), Trevor (Mollie) and Hailey (fiancé, David); six great-grandchildren; his siblings, Dave (Marie) Thiel, LeRoy Thiel, Joann (Tony) Jansen and Dewey (Jane) Thiel and his brother-in-law, Henry Sommer.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his sister, Darlene Sommer and sister-in-law, Sue Thiel.
The Memorial Service for Dennis will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London with Pastor Paul Ibisch officiating. The visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Full military honors will be held following the service. Burial will be at Central Wisconsin Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, King, WI.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
Snarp's family wishes to thank Lu, Eugene, Steve, Al, Jake and his many close friends for looking after him and helping out when it meant the most.
