It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis E Thompson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world on January 31, 2026, at the age of 79. Born in Loveland, Ohio, Denny was a vibrant spirit who touched the lives of many through his unwavering kindness and deep affection for his family.
Denny shared a loving life of 50 years with his devoted wife, Linda Chandler Thompson. Together, they raised three sons, Matt (Becky), Michael (Kristen), and Mark Thompson, who will forever cherish the lessons of love, laughter, and resilience that their father instilled in them. He was a doting grandfather to Maddy and Alaina, whom he adored beyond measure and who brought immense joy to his life. Denny is survived by his brother Gary and sister Sharon. Denny is preceded in death by his parents Ben and Glenna Thompson.
A proud veteran, Denny served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, where he worked as a mechanic on F4 jets. Following his service, he continued to exemplify dedication through his work as a mechanic and later at Hickory Woods Golf Course, where he shared his love for the game over a rewarding 16 years. Denny was a loyal supporter of the Cincinnati Reds and found immense pleasure in discussing sports with friends and family.
Denny possessed an infectious sense of humor and a generous spirit in all he did. He was always the first to lend a hand, earning him a reputation as the "go-to guy" for help. He was also a proud member of the American Legion and VFW, finding camaraderie and purpose among fellow veterans.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in his honor at St. Andrew Catholic Church on February 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM, where family and friends will gather to reflect on the remarkable life he lived. Prior to the mass, a visitation will take place at Evans Funeral Home in Milford on February 9, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Following the service, Dennis will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery in Milford.
As we say goodbye to Denny, we will carry his spirit with us, remembering his warmth, his laughter, and the incredible love he had for those around him. His legacy continues in the hearts of all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
