Dennis Vasseur, a loving family man, passed away on November 1, 2025, at Lafayette General Medical Center, on what would have been his 61st birthday. Born on November 1, 1964, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, Dennis was a proud member of his community and dedicated his life to his family, friends, and his career.
Dennis built a successful career in the construction field, where he was known for his skill and reliability as a heavy equipment operator. Outside of work, Dennis found joy in the great outdoors. His love for the outdoors was perhaps only matched by his passion for music, particularly enjoying the broadcasts of KBON, where he could immerse himself in the Cajun sounds that brought him happiness.
Above all, Dennis adored his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, taking immense pride in their accomplishments and nurturing their dreams. His love for his family was the cornerstone of his life, and he dedicated countless hours to creating lasting memories with them.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 41 years, Bridget D. Vasseur; daughters, Marsey Manuel and husband Bryant of Mamou, Britany Vasseur and fiancé Holden Darbonne of Prairie Ronde, Briana Briscoe and husband Michael of Lawtell ; sisters, Linda Ortego and Elaine Vasseur both of Prairie Ronde; grandchildren, Coen Briscoe, Carson Briscoe and Silas Darbonne; in-laws, Roger and Mary Lanclos of Prairie Ronde; brother-in-law, Brett Doucet and wife Billie Jo of Arnaudville; sister-in-law, Joanna Landry of Opelousas, and Paula Jeffers of Leonville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Versey Vasseur; brother, Roland Gene Vasseur; sisters, Betty Pommier and Jeanette Ardoin; and sister-in-law, Amantha “Dolly” Doucet.
