72, of Menasha, WI (formerly Baraboo, WI), passed away peacefully Friday, January 2, 2026, at Cherry Meadows in Appleton, Wisconsin.
Dennis was born December 1, 1953, in Sterling, IL to Marvin and Neva (Bender) Wagner. Dennis was the oldest of three children and spent most of his childhood in Morrison, IL, where he attended Morrison High School. While still in high school, Dennis enlisted in the US Army and served active duty until 1974. While in the Army, Dennis received the National Defense Service Medal, Parachute Badge, was a M16 sharpshooter and hand grenade expert.
In 1975, Dennis married Kristin (Jones) and during their five years of marriage, they were blessed with three sons: Zack, Nate and Nick.
Dennis was known as a loyal, hardworking employee at Perry Printing (RR Donnelly) in Baraboo WI, where he worked for many years before his retirement in 2017.
In 1986, Dennis became dedicated to Narcotics Anonymous and his sobriety. In his many years of being involved in NA, Dennis was influential in the sobriety of many. He was proud to tell you he had been sober for nearly 40 years.
He loved the outdoors and in his free time he enjoyed: hunting, fishing, camping, kayaking, canoeing, morel hunting and off-roading in his classic Willy's jeep. He especially enjoyed these activities with his family and friends.
Dennis is survived by his three sons: Zachariah (Renee), Nathaniel (Stephanie) and Nicholas (Jessica), seven grandchildren: Madison, Noah, Aryah, Delaney, Emma, Ellys and Hallie; a brother, Terry Wagner; a sister, Robin (Don) Hartog and during the last several years, Dennis found comfort in companionship with Cindy Keding.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded.
