Dennis Raymond Williams of Saluda, VA unexpectedly passed away at home December 27, 2025, at the age of 74.
Helen and James Albert Williams welcomed Dennis to this world on June 25, 1951, in Newport News, Virginia.
Dennis was a graduate of York Academy class of 1969 and later settled into a career at the West Point Papermill which he dedicated himself to for nearly 50 years. During his years at the mill, he cherished the numerous friendships he formed, and it was uncommon for him to travel anywhere without meeting a familiar face.
Dennis had many passions in life, but none surpassed his love for coonhounds. There was hardly a time when he did not have a good hound on the end of his lead. In addition to his passion for coon hunting, he was often seen fishing, trapping, or spending time with friends at Big John’s Store. In the rare event he was not out you could probably find him at home caring for dogs, cutting grass, or picking up pinecones.
Dennis is predeceased by his wife of 22 years, Donna Williams, as well as his mother, Helen Sawyer, and his father, James Albert Williams.
Dennis is survived by his children; Jennifer Jordan, Stefanie Campbell (Kevin), and Lucius “Luke” Williams. His grandchildren; Scott Smith, Nikki Sumers, and Mason Campbell. His siblings; brothers Douglas Williams (Virginia), Robert Williams (Mary), and sister Sandra Parsley (Michael).
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Bristow Faulkner Funeral Home, Saluda.
