Hall of Fame Coach Denny Crum was a good friend and liked to play golf together and invited each other to play in events at our Country Clubs. My wife Carol and I had dinner with Denny and his wife after he won a prize of the use of a new Cadillac to drive to the Smokey Mountains and stay in a hotel and play golf over a weekend. The reason is that he couldn't go was because he was going to Europe to coach the Olympics basketball team. After we moved to Florida I only saw him once in an Airport and we hugged and talked some before our flights. He was a great man and I wish he was still here. H was a year older than me and I hope I will see him in our afterlife.

Rest In Peace Coach Crum. I admired you more than you know, not just as Our Coach, but also because of the man you were. You ARE a Legend and I don´t think you ever got the recognition that you deserved, but I never thought you cared much about that! I pray that you are at peace and fishing in Heaven! I love you Coach and I´ll miss you every day. My prayers to Susan, Scott and the rest of your family, and your many, many friends and admirers. Rest In The Fathers arms for a life well lived.

1986 was the year...I was 10 years old trying to stay up to finish watching the championship game between UofL& Duke. I fell asleep and woke up asking my mom...did we win and she said yes! I remember the elation and pride I had for my team, city, and Coach Crum! That began my love and passion for the game! Remembering him with the rolled up paper in his hand and I was always impressed by his calmness during such an intense game. I played ball and always rep our team! He exemplified LOYALTY #L1C4

I am a fan. I watched his leadership of UofL teams and interactions with basketball players at the high school level in the 70s. The spark in his eyes, his calm demeanor and his encouraging messages were magical. I was given an opportunity to Coach a Men's Basketball team in So Korea in theearly 80s. When I told those guys that I would be using Denny Crum's fundamentals to coach them, that fact melted away the anxiety they had of being coached by a woman. I shared this to let you know the far reaching respect that he garnered for himself extended far beyond Louisville and Kentucky and even the United States. Oh yea... his blueprint was awesome. We won lots of games.

In conclusion, I encourage this family, friends and fans worldwide to hold onto the fond memories you have of Coach, for the tough times, ahead.

RIHP to a gentleman and Coach, Denny Crum.

I met coach Crum back in 1992 at a university of southern Mississippi basketball game in Hattiesburg Mississippi that me and my dad attended. My dad passed away in Sept'22. My condolences are with his family. He was a great man and coach. Will always have that special game.

I remember when Denny was John Wooden's assistant, at UCLA. We knew he was bright, and he continued to prove his Hall of Fame greatness during his longstanding tenure at Louisville. Denny truly earned his legendary status in basketball, and the tributes that I've read reveal that he was a wonderful and beloved gentleman.

Rest in peace, Coach.

Coach Crum was an outstanding coach, and an overall good and kind man, while living in big blue land near lexington ky, I grew up and have always been a Louisville fan, Coach Crum started at Louisville when i was in the 1st grade, and many years after that i spoke with him on a few radio call in shows, once after he retired i called his secretary for an autographed pic, and it was sent to me in just a few days. Prayers are with his family, and i know they must know the love card nation had for this genuine kind hearted soul, we called coach, thanks to his family for sharing this man with us.
