Denny Lee Head (Papa), 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 27, 2026, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.
Denny was born on January 23, 1945, to Howard and Josephine (Cady) Head in Rochester, MN. He attended Kasson-Mantorville Schools where he excelled in football and wrestling, and met his high school sweetheart, Donna (Fjerstad) Head. They were married on December 6, 1963, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kasson, Minnesota.
Denny valued hard work. He loved farming and working with his hands. He spent more than 40 years as a machinist and laborer in the cement block business. He was a dedicated member of the Kasson Volunteer Fire Department for 26 years, where he proudly served many years as Fire Chief. He enjoyed outdoor activities including snowmobiling, fishing, deer hunting, camping, gardening but most importantly, golf. He lived for being on the “greens,” even working at Zumbro Valley Golf Course as a greens keeper after his retirement. He loved puzzles, cards and games, bowling, bean bags, and most of all, watching Minnesota and local sports. He dedicated his life to supporting his friends and family.
He is survived by his two sons, Dan (Linda) Head and Dane (Natalie) Head; two daughters, Darby (Tracy) Euler and Dena (Brett) Keefe; 14 grandchildren, Emily (Kate), Kate (Taylor), Dalton, Tayler (Adriana), Danielle (Brady), Darian (Abby), Courtney, Catelyn, Christopher, Dakota (Tyler), Nick (Kate), Jon (Tia), Kendra (Brandon), and Isaac; 13 great-grandchildren, Asher, Jaelynn, Drayah, Atticus, Dawsyn, Scottie, Baby Moorman, Nixon, Noah, Onyx, Waylon, Wyatt, and Cecilia; and one brother, Al (Marie); sisters in law, Ruth and Linda.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Donna; daughter, Dana Lynn; parents; brothers, Bob, Les (Janet), Mike; nephew, Colby; niece Dana; and great nephew, Lyle.
A funeral service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kasson, Minnesota, on Friday, February 6, 2026 at 2pm with visitation one hour prior. The burial will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Kasson, MN. Immediately following the funeral, a meal will be provided at the church.
