Denzil Leon Moore 83, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026 in a St. Joseph, MO hospital. He was born January 24, 1942 in Roy, MO, son of the late Ruth and Ova Moore. He graduated from Benton High School and attended the St. Joseph Junior College. He married Virginia Farrar on August 26, 1961, and she survives of the home. Denzil retired from Seitz Foods, and also worked at the St. Joseph Stockyards, and the St. Joseph News Press as a paper boy in his younger years. He enjoyed playing pitch, gardening, fishing, bowling, hunting, watching all sports, and coaching little league baseball, he was an avid Chiefs fan, but most especially he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of Eagles Lodge and attended St. Francis Xavier with his wife Virginia. Denzil was preceded in death by his parents, son, Dennis Lee Moore, daughter in law, Danette Moore, and brother in law, Curtis Malotte. Survivors include: wife, Virginia "Ginny" of the home, four sons: Douglas (Carrie) Moore, St. Joseph, MO, Dwayne (Debbie) Moore, Battlefield, MO, Thomas Moore, of St. Joseph, Timothy Moore of Gower, MO, and daughter, Pamela (Don) Bryan, Turney, MO, 15 grandchildren, Natalie, Nina, Cameron, Kasey, Maddy, Mathew, Trevor, Tyler, Eric, Tillie, Molly, Dennis, Brandon, Owen, and Eli, 7 great grandchildren with one on the way, and two sisters, Linda Malotte and Wanda (Tom) Dulcan both of St. Joseph, MO. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at the Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral services and public live stream; 10:00 am, Thursday, January 29, 2026 at the Rupp Funeral Home, Pastor Josh Embrey officiating. The Interment will be at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Easton, MO. Memorials are requested to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
