DeQuetta Joyce Netherton

DeQuetta "Dee" Joyce Netherton, age 87, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas.

She was born on January 7, 1939, in Paris, Arkansas, to Carl and Mary Nell Rice.

DeQuetta was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She never left the house without being fully beautified-her hair, makeup, and nails were always a staple of her daily routine. She loved spending time outdoors gardening, fishing, and hunting, and soaking up the sunshine. Flowers brought her great joy, and there were never too many for her to admire. DeQuetta also loved cooking for her family and friends, and many cherished memories were made around her table. She had a warm and loving spirit, always greeting family and friends with her signature "Hi baby," followed by a hug and a kiss as they walked through the door. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her children: Rhonda Shaw and husband Ricky; Beverly French and husband Eddie; Pamela "Pam" Williams and husband Mark; and James "Jimmy" Sheplear and wife Kreshna. She is also survived by her stepchildren: Tamara Ragon and husband Russell, and Bethlynn Netherton; her brother, Tommy Rice and wife Shirley; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and friends.

DeQuetta was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mary Nell Rice; her husband, David Marion Netherton; her siblings, Carl Dean "CD" Rice, Loretta "Jean" Epperson, and Gary Rice; and her stepson, Timothy "Tim" Netherton.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 12, at Harris Funeral Home in Morrilton, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Barry Whitehead.
