Derek Banks 52, of Beaumont, TX; passed Jul. 18, 2024.
Services are Aug. 03, 2024, at Proctor's Mortuary 3522 Washington Blvd. Beaumont, TX. Visitation will begin at 12noon until Funeral at 1PM.
Derek Dewayne Banks, affectionately known as "D Banks" was born on June 29, 1972, to Wanda Gail Banks and the late Bobby Lenard. He was then adopted by his grandparents, Marshal and Ruth Banks. On July 18, 2024, God sent his angels to carry him to his heavenly home. He was 52 years of age.
Derek was a lifelong resident of Beaumont, TX. He was a son, a husband, a father, an uncle, a cousin and a friend. He never met a stranger and was always willing to hold court to all who visited Roberts Street Park. When you saw Derek, you would also see his lifelong friend, Fred Ruben. Derek attended Central High School. He worked various jobs, and you could always see him walking around the city of Beaumont.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marshal and Ruth Banks, his father, Bobby Lenard, one daughter, Deja Banks, aunts, Francis Chatman and Deborah Doffoney, uncles, Marshal Jr and Kenneth Banks, cousin, Justin Joubert.
Leaving to cherish his memories: Tiffany Jones-Banks, mother, Wanda Banks, stepmother, Cheryl Lenard, one daughter, Bo Derek Banks of San Antonio, TX, two sons, Dylan Banks and Derek Banks Jr, both of Beaumont, TX, his first cousin/sister Stacy Riley (Cedrick) of Beaumont, TX, three sisters, Erica Daughetry of Beaumont, Tx, Shawn Manning of Houston, TX, Felicia Ramsey of Oregan, two stepsisters, Rylonda Carodee and Rikisha Jackson both of Beaumont, TX, his extend family from Stanton Street, Pauline Harrington-Martin, Birder Thomas (Arthur), Elton Martin Jr and Tamika Martin. His lifelong friend, Fred Ruben, three sisters in law, Brigitte Duplechain and Nicole Jackson (Tyrone) both of Beaumont, TX and Courtney Warren (Timothy) of Cankton, La, two brothers in laws, Gerald Duplechain (Desiree) of Houston, TX, Gregory Duplechain of Beaumont, TX, 9 grandchildren and host of nieces and nephews as well as a host of other family and friends.
