Derek Erdmann

Derek Erdmann, beloved partner, father, grandfather, brother, and son, passed away at home in Oak Hill, Virginia, with his family and friends by his side, on September 14, 2025. A sports, music, movie, and chocolate enthusiast, Derek loved to spend his time with family and friends at various entertainment events. Whether it be musical concerts, professional sporting games, a nephew's baseball game, or pumpkin patches with the grandchildren– it didn't matter what he was doing, as long as it was with family, he would be happy. To enjoy an exciting New York Rangers hockey game, with Dr. Pepper in hand, and friends by his side, was all Derek needed. He was the dependable friend, the loyal brother, the thoughtful partner, and the ever-loving and present father. Derek was born on February 3, 1961, in Teaneck, New Jersey, but spent most of his childhood in Denville, New Jersey. He attended Radford University, and became an International Tax Accountant CPA, for many years. He is predeceased by his parents, Manfred Otto Erdmann and Joanna Marie Erdmann. Derek is survived by his love, Judy Hollar, of Fairfax, Va; his daughters, Lauren, and her husband Matthew Freix, of Broadlands, Va, and Lindsey, and her husband Ray Augst, of Centreville, Va; by his grandchildren, Olivia Freix, Grayson Freix, and Addison Augst; by his mother, Maria Erdmann, his sister, Laura Erdmann, his brother, Carl and Jenny Erdmann, his sister, Jennifer and Chris Del Monte, and his brother, Andrew and Tania Erdmann; along with many nieces and nephews. Please join us for a Celebration of Derek's Life on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 4025 Kings Wy, Fairfax, Va 22033. Service will begin promptly at 11am; Doors will open at 10:30am. The family welcomes floral arrangements to honor Derek at his Celebration of Life. J.
