A proud alumnus of the University of Colorado, Derek's passion for business and innovation led him to establish Faison Office Products. Under his leadership, the company flourished, becoming a trusted provider of office solutions and a cornerstone in the local business community.
Beyond his professional achievements, Derek was known for his generosity, integrity, and commitment to uplifting those around him. He believed in the power of education and often mentored young entrepreneurs, sharing his knowledge and experiences to inspire the next generation.
Derek's warm spirit and infectious enthusiasm touched the lives of many. He was a devoted, father, grandfather and loving brother, always placing family at the heart of his endeavors. His love for life was evident in his community involvement, philanthropic efforts, and the countless friendships he nurtured over the years.
He is survived by his loving family, who will continue to honor his memory by upholding the values he cherished.
A memorial service celebrating Derek's life will be held at a later date to be announced.
Derek Edgar Faison's legacy of kindness, leadership, and community service will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Derek was a great friend and brother since we met in 1968 at CU Boulder. He mentored my son Robert while he was a high school student and taught him business principles that he applies today. I am proud to have traveled the world with him and shared many laughs and lifelong memories with him. E.Franklin Frazier Literary Society, Buffaloes, weddings I officiated and tears. I will miss you my brother.

To Frankie and The Faison Family, I extend my heartfelt feelings and condolences regarding Dear Derek's Transition in Life. I can only recall as a former teammate with Derek on the football (statistician) and track squad his forever present uplifting smile, and infectious spirit amongst our Viking Family that helped enable all of our successful State Championships.
However, time passes us by leaving us in the Shadows of Our Memories. Frankie, just the other day while going thru some boxes of my past, I came across a Playbill for The Play "Fences" on Broadway. You had signed it for me, "There's nothing, like seeing your home boy, Peace and Love," along with James Earl Jones afterwards.
As a home boy living with my paternal grandparents in the 13 hundred block of 29th St., and you and Derek residing around the corner in the 12 hundred block of 28th St. (East End). I would stop there on occasions for the rich fellowship that we shared.
May the bonds of Peace & Love never be broken in this life nor the next!
