Derek Anthony Hudelson

Derek Anthony Hudelson, 56 of Ashford, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at his home following an extended illness.
Derek was born in Pawhuska, Oklahoma on November 9, 1966, to the late Roger Hudelson and Helen Oldham Hudelson. A U. S. Army Veteran, Derek served as a startup manager for several new restaurants while living in Oklahoma. Although his diabetes made him retire at an early age, Derek made light of his sickness after losing his leg. He was a devout Christian and enjoyed his life being a dad and granddad, he was very family oriented. He always knew just what to say to make you feel better, advise you with his ole fatherly advice whether it led to some crazy story or to just simply telling you to do your best.
Preceded in death by his parents and one sister Stacey.
He is survived by four children Gailend George (Katlyn) U.S. Army, Savannah, GA, Sianna George (Mason Pate), Graceville, FL, Darika Hudelson, Ashford, AL, Kieren Hudelson, U.S. Navy, Greece, best friend, and mother of his children Nicky George-Hudelson, three grandchildren Orion, Persephone, Odysseus, four sisters Natalie, Michelle, Denise, Caprice, several nieces, and nephews.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
