Lamar Holton Obituary
Lamar was born in Jackson County, Florida, on June 15, 1946, to Doyle "Doc" Holton and Clara Estelle Harrison Holton. A graduate of Graceville High School, Lamar worked as a diesel mechanic until his retirement. Known for his gift of gab, eating at various restaurants and always making a new friend or reconnecting with an old friend. Lamar raised goats and was known as the "goat man" for many years.
Preceded in death by his parents, wife Sybil Lassiter Holton, brother Russell Holton, sister Carolyn Gill and her husband Bob.
Survived by his son Brian Holton and wife Shannon, two granddaughters Natalie and Kylie, brother Jerry Holton and wife Vicki, sister-in-law Connie Holton, several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, January 22, 2026, at New Home Baptist Church with Rev. Stevie Harris officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home directing.
Family will receive friends at the church Thursday, 1 p.m. until time of the service.
