On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, Derek John Peart passed away unexpectedly at the age of 45 following a tragic fall at work. He was taken from us way too soon and he will be deeply missed by all who were acquainted with him.
Derek was born on February 27, 1980 to Charles and Margaret Peart in
Riverton, Wyoming. He completed their family as the caboose. Derek graduated from Riverton High School in 1998 and attended Central Wyoming College for two years. He worked for years in the construction industry, renovating and building both residential and commercial buildings. He was a talented carpenter, and many were blessed by his beautiful workmanship. He most recently was working with Chris Forbis, building homes in Riverton.
Derek was blessed to spend most of his life in Riverton. While growing up, he loved to skateboard, swim, and ride his motorcycle. He graduated from Riverton High School in 1998 where he was a member of the swim team. He later found his greatest joy in raising his three amazing children, Addison, Kinley and Grayson. They were the highlight of his life. Derek loved being in the mountains with them whenever he had the chance. They loved camping, fishing and hunting together. He was an avid Wyoming Cowboys and Denver Broncos fan and later became a Buffalo Bills fan, cheering for Josh Allen.
Derek recently married Kalyn Manchester in November 2025. Even though their time together was cut way too short, their love story was beautiful. Kalyn's son, Bodhi, adored Derek and Derek adored Bodhi in return.
Derek is survived by his wife, Kalyn Manchester (and her son Bodhi); his former wife, Claire Manning and their children Addison (17), Kinley (15), and Grayson (12); his parents, Charles and Margaret Peart; his siblings Nikki Mosbrucker (Brian), Rick Peart (Erin), and Natalie Albright (Ray). He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Tarryn Mosbrucker, Brady (Megan) Mosbrucker, Drew Peart, and Hunter Peart; great-nieces Charley Mosbrucker, Maggie Mosbrucker and great-nephew Jace Mosbrucker, along with many uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
The family offers heartfelt gratitude to Jenn Phisterer at Community Health Centers as well as the remarkable staff at Sage West Memorial and University of Utah Hospital for the grace, compassion and expert medical knowledge that was extended to them during this difficult time. The family also extends a special gratitude to Chris Forbis for the remarkable support.
There will be a Memorial Service 10:30 am, Friday, January 2, 2026 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 430 Elizabeth Drive in
Riverton, Wyoming.
Interment at Mountain View Cemetery will be held at a later date along with the spreading of his ashes as per his request.
