Derek Dylan Polanco

Derek Dylan Polanco, 18, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 in Lewisville, Tx. Derek was born on January 23, 2007, in Jersey City, New Jersey to Jarib Polanco and Glenda Robalino. And was a best friend to his younger sister Geraldine Polanco.
He graduated Lewisville High School in 2025 where he also studied automotive mechanic. He continued his education at North Central Texas College in Flower mound, Tx. He was studying Business and Finance with ambitions to be successful.

Derek enjoyed spending his time working on his Nissan 370z. He recently fell in love with the thrill of riding his motorcycle and loved taking pictures of his car and bike. He enjoyed sharing his talents by helping his friends work on their cars and teaching them how to ride and share his love for bikes. Traveling with his sister was one of his favorite things to do. He loved playing games with his family on the holidays and he had a passion for food!

Known for his strong work ethic, he was always thinking ahead and finding ways to provide and succeed. He was a man of vision who perused his goals with determination and perseverance.

Derek is survived by his parents Jarib Polanco and Glenda Robalino; Sister, Geraldine Polanco; Grandparents, Dimas and Francia Polanco, Grandmother, Mami Cecy; Grandpa, Jaime Robalino; Tio's and Titi's, Francis Polanco, Elaine Polanco and William Dias Peña, Elizabeth Polanco and Cesar Lopez, Dustin and Michelle Robalino-Arcos, Stephanie Martinez and Jean Pierre Campos; Cousins, Dustin Jr Robalino, William Dias Polanco, Darilynn Robalino, Destiny Robalino, Ylen Dias Polanco, Darryl Robalino, Jehlani Campos, Adara Gonzalez.
A celebration of life will be held on January 22nd at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 740 Edmonds lane, Lewisville,Texas. The viewing/visitation will be at 2 following the service at 4. Bike tribute immediately following.
