Ramon Polanco, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on January 6th, 2026, in
Andrews, Texas, at the age of 68. Born on July 7th, 1957, in Ejido Positos, Municipio de Manuel Benavides, Chihuahua, Mexico, Ramon's early years were spent in the beauty of his homeland which shaped his lifelong love for ranching and the cowboy way of life.
Ramon's journey led him from the pastoral landscapes of Mexico to the vibrant community of
Andrews, Texas. There, he built a life rich with the love of family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter and love through his children: Aracely Dominguez and her husband Richard of Denver City, Abigail Polanco of Andrews, Karina Polanco and her husband Orlando of Midland, Veronica Martinez and her husband Edgar of Odessa, and Clarisa Polanco and her husband Joaquin of Odessa. His brothers Humberto Polanco and his wife Eva of Andrews, Victor Polanco and his wife Maria of Midland, and Esteban Polanco and his wife Cristina of Odessa, as well as his sisters Mary Galindo and her husband Saul of Odessa, Lupe Hernandez and her husband Omar of Odessa, Maria Ester Polanco of Odessa, Ana Udave and her husband Fidel of Mexico, Griselda Polanco and her husband Rey of Odessa, and Mayla Villanueva and her husband Jorge of El Paso, will also hold Ramon's memory close to their hearts. His legacy will continue to flourish through his sixteen grandchildren and the numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members who adored him.
Ramon is reunited in heaven with his beloved parents Aurelia Pando Polanco and Ramon Polanco, his treasured wife of forty years Ninfa Polanco, and his sister Araseli Polanco.
With a longstanding career in the oil and gas industry, Ramon held many job titles and was respected for his work ethic and dedication. His devout Catholic faith was a cornerstone of his life, providing him with strength and guidance throughout his years.
Ramon's interests were as diverse as the man himself. He had an unrivaled love for singing and storytelling, with a knack for captivating an audience and bringing joy through his humor. A sports enthusiast, Ramon had a particular affection for basketball. His love for trucks, especially models from 1979 and 1997, was well known among his friends and family. However, it was his time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, that he cherished most. Ramon's sense of humor and the light he brought to every room will be deeply missed, yet the stories and jokes he shared will continue to resonate with those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from six until eight o'clock in the evening with a rosary beginning at seven o'clock at McNett Funeral Home. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at eleven o'clock in the morning at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews with burial immediately following at Andrews North Cemetery.

Sus hermanos Humberto Polanco y su esposa Eva de Andrews, Víctor Polanco y su esposa María de Midland, y Esteban Polanco y su esposa Cristina de Odessa, así como sus hermanas Mary Galindo y su esposo Saúl de Odessa, Lupe Hernández y su esposo Omar de Odessa, María Ester Polanco de Odessa, Ana Udave y su esposo Fidel de México, Griselda Polanco y su esposo Rey de Odessa, y Mayla Villanueva y su esposo Jorge de El Paso, también guardarán el recuerdo de Ramón en sus corazones. Su legado continuará floreciendo a través de sus dieciséis nietos y los numerosos sobrinos, sobrinas y demás familiares que lo adoraban.

Aficionado a los deportes, Ramón tenía una particular predilección por el baloncesto. Su pasión por los camiones, especialmente los modelos de 1979 y 1997, era bien conocida entre sus amigos y familiares. Sin embargo, lo que más valoraba era el tiempo que pasaba con su familia, en particular con sus nietos. Se le echará mucho de menos por su sentido del humor y la alegría que transmitía, pero las historias y los chistes que compartió seguirán vivos en la memoria de quienes tuvieron el placer de conocerlo.
El velorio se llevará a cabo el viernes 9 de enero de 2026, de seis a ocho de la tarde, con el rezo del rosario a las siete, en la Funeraria McNett. La misa de cuerpo presente se celebrará el sábado 10 de enero de 2026 a las once de la mañana en la Iglesia Católica Nuestra Señora de Lourdes en Andrews, seguida del sepelio en el Cementerio Andrews North.
