David Firenza Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McNett Funeral Home - Andrews on Feb. 16, 2026.
David Filmore Firenza, a cherished husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away on February 12, 2026, in Andrews, Texas, at the age of 68. Born on April 1, 1957, in Olney, Texas, David's life was marked by his dedication to his family, his love for the great outdoors, and a career that reflected his deep-seated compassion for others.

After graduating High School, David went on to pursue higher education at Methodist School of Nursing, where he earned an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1981. Then went on to West Texas State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in nursing in 1989. His commitment to healthcare was unwavering, and he furthered his expertise by obtaining a master's degree in nursing, leadership, and management from Western Governors University in 2022.

On December 28, 1991, David married the love of his life, Tammy Driver, in Abilene, Texas. Their union was blessed with thirty-four years of shared dreams, adventures, and the joy of raising three wonderful sons.

David's professional life was every bit as meaningful as his personal one. He was deeply committed to caring for patients and their families, while also sharing his knowledge through continuing education with his colleagues. At Crane Memorial Hospital, he served with wholehearted dedication, touching countless lives through his gentle compassion and clinical expertise, and forming lifelong friendships along the way.

David was also an advanced educator for the American Heart Association, teaching Cardiac, Pediatric and Stroke life support courses and helping to shape the next generation of healthcare professionals. In addition, he enjoyed serving on various committees, including the Texas J RAC Trauma Service, further demonstrating his commitment to advancing trauma care and strengthening the healthcare community.

A devout Christian, David lived his faith through his actions, always putting others before himself and spreading kindness wherever he went. His sense of humor, loving nature, and kindness defined him and left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

David's zest for life extended to his love of the outdoors. He was an avid shooter, hunter, and fisherman. Yet, even more than these pursuits, he cherished the time spent with his family. Whether it was a quiet evening at home or an exciting adventure in the wilderness, David's happiest moments were those surrounded by his loved ones.

Left to honor David's memory are his wife, Tammy Firenza of Andrews, Texas; his sons, David Firenza and wife Lindsey of Weatherford, Texas, Daniel Firenza of Radford, Virginia, and Joseph Firenza of Cross Plains, Texas; his brother, Frankie Firenza and wife Donna of Lubbock, Texas; his sister, Judy Carver of Kyle, Texas; his grandchildren, Kaden Haggart, Tinley Firenza, and Neeley Firenza, all of Weatherford, Texas; in-laws Clyde and Patty Driver of Andrews Texas; brother-in-law Noel Driver of Amarillo Texas and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members who will miss his presence dearly.

David is reunited in eternal rest with his parents, Rudell Wright Firenza and Frank John Firenza; his sister, Connie Firenza Wilson; and his brother, Raymond Firenza.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from five until seven o'clock in the evening at McNett Funeral Home in Andrews. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at ten o'clock in the morning at McNett Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Covington officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Andrews North Cemetery.
