Deric Francis Gardner, 42, of Ammon, Idaho, passed away February 11, 2026, in Bingham County, Idaho.
Deric was born June 24 in Rexburg, Idaho, to James Gardner and Linda Youngstrom Gardner. He spent his childhood in Teton, Idaho, where he built lifelong memories and friendships that shaped the steady, kind man he would become. He later earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting at Brigham Young University - Idaho and built a career as an auditor for the Department of Energy. His work took him and his family from Idaho to Maine before eventually settling back in Ammon.
Deric married the love of his life, Emily Tufts. Together they built a beautiful life centered around faith, family, and laughter.
Deric was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He found great joy in simple, meaningful things—serving others, playing board games, going for walks, and cheering on his sons at pole vaulting events. He treasured time spent with his family above all else.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Emily Gardner; his children, Sara, Kyle, James, Daniel, Michael, and Hannah; and his siblings Rodney, Max, Shirley, Terri, Ryan, Vickie, Lanny, and Tracy. He was preceded in death by his father, James Gardner; his mother, Linda Ann Gardner; his brother, Jamie Gardner.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 23 at 12:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3934 E. 49th S., Ammon, Idaho. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the same location. Interment will follow at Teton/Newdale Cemetery.
Deric will be remembered for his steady faith, quiet strength, and deep love for his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he cherished.
